Before you come to stay with us
Before you decide on whether Ashgill is the place for you, we would always suggest that you visit us. You are welcome to visit at any time with or without appointment.
This will allow you decide whether Ashgill is the place for you, to pick a room you like and to meet both the staff and other residents beforehand. You may even know some of us already!
Once you decide that you will come to Ashgill we will send you some forms for you to fill so that we know what you like and what we need to do to ensure you enjoy your stay with us.
When you arrive?
You will be shown your room and assisted with settling in. We will help you with unpacking and getting the room the way you want it. After a cup of tea/coffee (which always helps we find), we will then introduce you to the resident’s and other staff you may have not met.
We understand that coming to a new place can be like the ‘first day at school’ all over again so we will make sure you are make to feel part of the Ashgill family.
During your stay
While you stay with us, we will do our best to fit into your routine. So if you like staying up late, or getting up early, we will be there for you.
We have lots of activities for both individuals and groups to partake in such as dominos, snooker, knitting and bingo. We also have a lovely garden with a putting/bowling green, outdoor chess board, barbeque, waterfall and fountain. If you like gardening you can have your own patch. Some of our residents even grow their own vegetables.
We also have entertainers come to Ashgill at least once a month, on the last Friday of the month, and also on special occasions like Christmas, St. Andrews day etc.
Although sometimes it’s just nice to sit and chat and at Ashgill we like nothing better than a good blether!
